I am Komi-san, Komyushou desu. It’s Shouko Komi’s first day at the prestigious Itan Private High School, and she’s already the school’s Madonna.
She has long black hair and a tall, graceful appearance that draws the attention of anyone who sees her. Although Shouko is popular, she has a problem communicating with others. Hirohito Tadano is your average high school boy.
According to his life motto, “read the situation and stay out of trouble,” he quickly learns that sitting next to Shouko has made him the enemy of everyone in his class! After being knocked unconscious by an accident, Hitohito wakes up to Shouko’s “meow.”
Shouko runs away after he lies that he hasn’t heard anything. Before Shouko can escape, Hitohito surmises that she is not able to make friends easily-in fact, she has never been able to make a friend.
Hitohito resolves to help Shouko achieve her goal of making 100 friends in order to overcome her communication disorder.
